‘Walk This Way’ Promotion in Samutprakarn Province
(As part of the Extension of ‘Walk This Way’ plan)

 
  On August 19, 2012 – the WTW Program Promotion and photos displaying was held at The Color Living Hotel in Samutprakarn Province. SKT promoted the Walk This Way program and spread out awareness of pedestrian injury and ways to be safe. And also promoted the Photovoice project to 75 Health Volunteers of 5 districts in Samutprakarn Province.  
 
 
 

The Model School Zone Project - The second Data Collection

 
 

On August 21, 2012 – SKT partnered with FedEx, Road Safety Professionals of the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy Planning, Ministry of Transport, and the teachers collected pedestrian behavior, environments, and vehicles in each road surrounding the school zone-once in the morning while students are arriving and once in the afternoon around school dismissal time.

 
 
 
 
 
     
 
 
     
 
 
 

WTW Program Promotion and PHOTOVOICE Exhibit
(As part of the Extension of ‘Walk This Way’ plan)

 
 

On August 24,2012 - a WTW promotion program and PHOTOVOICE exhibit took place at the Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel in Bangkok as part of the 5th International Symposium on “Transportation for a Better Life : Preparing for ASEAN Integration” Which held on August 24-25,2012. Participants at the event included 200 delegates.

 
 

The Model School Zone Project - PHOTOVOICE Project

 
 

On August 30, 2012 – SKT partner with FedEx, the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy Planning, Ministry of Transport, and the teachers began the PHOTOVOICE project at Poolcharoenwitthayakhom School, Bang Phli, Samutprakarn Province. With participation from 10 students aged 12-13 years. Photos related risky behavior and environment of pedestrian were taken.

The students received pedestrian safety education and photography training and participated in an observational research field trip. During the observational field trip, SKT volunteers walked with children around the school.  Volunteers discussed how to take a photo and avoid risks with the children. The best photo related to pedestrian issues and risk areas were selected by the students, one child one photo.
