On February 1, SKT has conducted the meeting with teachers of three schools in FY12, they are Kingpetch School, Watthasanaroon School and Watdishongsaram School. And also trained the Pedestrian Safety Promotion.
PHOTOVOICE Project
On February 7-8, SKT began the PHOTOVOICE project II. An event for PHOTOVOICE took place at Kingpetch School (Feb 7) and Watdishongsaram School (Feb 8) with participation from 85 students aged 9-11 years, teachers, SKT volunteers and FedEx volunteers. More than 100 photos related risky behavior and environment of pedestrian were taken.
The students received pedestrian safety education and photography training and participated in an observational research field trip. During the observational field trip, SKT and FedEx volunteers walked with children around the school. Volunteers discussed how to take a photo and avoid risks with the children. The best photo related to pedestrian issues and risk areas were selected by the students, one child one photo.
A photo exhibition of the two schools will be held on February 29th at Kingpetch School, Bangkok.

Safety Pedestrian Education
On February 9-10, SKT collected data on the mode and method of travel for children, injury occurrence and number of pedestrians for kindergarten and student grade 1-6 at Kingpetch School. SKT also educated students how to be safe while walking and traveling after collected data.

On February 21, FedEx volunteers selected the best photos of PHOTOVOICE project II, and will be given awards to 6 students on February 29 in PHOTOVOICE Exhibition event.
PHOTOVOICE Exhibition “How do the adults respond when you see our PHOTO?”
On February 29, a photo exhibition of Kingpetch School and Watdishongsaram School was held at Kingpetch School with participation from 210 students, parents, teachers, community heads, related agencies of Ratchathewi District, SKT/CSIP, FedEx volunteers and others. Sixty-Five best pictures taken by students were on display. All guests had the opportunity to ask student of each photo and vote for the most risky photo that need to modify to be safe by posted the sticker on the photo. FedEx volunteers supervised students during activity andgave awards to them. And also the PHOTOVOICE Guide was distributed to schools and attendees at the event as well.
Furthermore, the Director of Ratchathewi District Office and the Deputy Director of the Traffic and Transportation Department announced to consider the solution of the risks of pedestrian based on Photovoice project of the two schools and the risky areas will be modified .
