Teacher Training October 30 – November 2, 2018 – – Safe Kids Thailand/CSIP collaboration with the Office of Nakhon Pratom Primary Education Area Zone 1, and National Institute for Child and family Development organized the 16th Teacher Training Workshop at the conference room of the Office of Nakhon Pratom Primary Education Area Zone 1.
With supported from FedEx, Safe Kids Thailand/CSIP had two schools as the prototyped safe school zone in road safety, the first is Jumpeewanidaporn School and the second is Ban Prang School. By cooperation of partners, the schools completed risk improvements in school zone that related to pedestrians safety, and also increased in knowledge and behaviors among students, teachers, parents, guardians, school bus drivers, etc.
During December 15, 2018 to March 31, 2019 – – After PHOTOVOICE Training, the completion of all PHOTOVOICE activities in 14 schools under the Office of Nakhon Pathom Primary Education Area Zone 1 and 2 found that more than 1,033 students engaged, 67 teachers engaged, 222 parents engaged, and 78 participants including local government, police, and community leaders, 98 selected photos of risky environments taken by children, 14 of exhibitions in-schools with more than 1,400 participants. After PHOTOVOICE exhibition, 4 schools completed a total of 7 risk improvement, and 10 schools have a plan of the environmental modification to be continued.
Safe Kids Thailand/CSIP together with FedEx Express Thailand, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), road safety partnerships as well as schools and communities in Bangkok held the 5th UN Global Road Safety Week leadership for road safety on June 5, 2019 at Bangkok City Hall.
The event was joined nearly 750 persons of children, parents, teachers, communities, partners, stakeholders, journalists, FedEx employees, and volunteers.
This event is to urge all sectors of society, especially government authorities and relevant agencies to take an attention the plight of children and actionable steps to make children safe on the roads according to the principles of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020, as well as to listen to children voices to show strength and submit the ‘Road safety claims’ for asking all relevant sectors create road safety for children.
Safe Kids Thailand/CSIP surveyed 219 primary schools in Bangkok by the collaboration of Department of Education, BMA, and Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education. The results as following,
During the month of April to May, Walk to School Day events, sponsored by FedEx, were held in 8 primary schools and 3 communities in Bangkok focused on raising awareness about speed reduction at the cross walk around school zone and community nearby.
This year, the events took place in partnership with the Department of Education, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and 10 District Office across Bangkok.
January 25, 2019 – – The Safe School Zone Site Visit was conducted at 3 schools in Nan province. This activity led by Safe Kids Thailand under the Child Safety Promotion and Injury Prevention Research Center together with Mr. Channarong Waiyapoj, an engineering faculty from Kasetsart university, and Mr. Dilok Lertkriangkraiying, from NIPPON CHEMICAL CO. LTD., with supported from FedEx.
