PHOTOVOICE Training, Nakhon Pathom ( December 14, 2018 )

Safe Kids Thailand, under the Child Safety Promotion and Injury Prevention Research Center (CSIP) supported by FedEx and Safe Kids Worldwide and collaboration with the Office of Nakhon Pathom Primary Education Area Zone 1 and 2, and National Institute for Child and family Development organized a PHOTOVOICE Training on December 14, 2018 at the conference room of National Institute for Child and family Development.

The objective was to introduce process of PHOTOVOICE activity and able to apply in schools. The 30 attendants included school management and teachers from 14 primary schools in Nakhon Pathom province.

PHOTOVOICE helps to communicate with public by revealing real condition of society that affects young students’ travel to school. Students have opportunity in taking photos their travel route and presenting how risk it is to the public and relevant agencies.

PHOTOVOICE leads into better change and pedestrian safety to young students.

In the training workshop, the attendants learned about 7 steps of PHOTOVOICE activity, consisting of knowledge about pedestrian safety, learning technique in taking risk area photos, taking photo, photo selection and small group discussion, total discussion, PHOTOVOICE Exhibition, and risk improvement from PHOTOVOICE.

Scholarship fund of 5,000 baht and PHOTOVOICE activity manual were given to school attendants.

After the completion of all PHOTOVOICE activity in every school, these will be presented altogether in PHOTOVOICE: Show & Share, which will be presented in May 2019 tentatively.
