Global Road Safety Week
May 8, 2015 — more than 300 students, teachers, parents, policymakers, and road safety advocates joined the Global Road Safety Week 2015 Save Kids Lives event at Santirat Wittayalai School in Bangkok. The event was organized by Safe Kids Thailand, Child Safety Promotion and Injury Prevention Research Center, Road Safety Directing Center, FedEx, and RAAT.
The event was aimed at a call for action to stop the growing number of road deaths and to ask decision makers for their commitment to protecting children.
A highlight of the event was the mass signing of the Child Declaration and children voicing their thoughts and fears about travelling on the roads and what they need to be kept safe on the roads.
There are 1000 signboards with road safety messages and “safie” photos were posted on social media networks.
